3,0ELSchmand (oder Frischkäse oder Quark oder Joghurt)
6,0TLErdnussbuttercreme (Nutella ist eine perfekte Alternative)

Zubereitung

Ran ans Werk:
1.) Den Ofen auf 175°C Ober- und Unterhitze vorheizen. Eine Kastenform (25 x 10cm) fetten und bemehlen oder alternativ mit Backpapier auslegen.
2.) Die weiche Butter mit dem Zucker wenige Minuten lang mit einem Handrührgerät cremig rühren. Die Eier nach und nach hinzugeben. Also: immer erst das nächste Ei einmischen, wenn das vorige vollständig verrührt wurde.
3.) Mehl, Backkakao, Backpulver und Salz in einer separaten Schüssel vermischen.
4.) Das Mehlgemisch mit den Bananen und Schmand (bzw. auserwählte Ersatzzutat) zum Teig geben und alles gut vermengen. Keine Sorge: der Teig ist recht zähflüssig. Bananenbrot hat eine festere Konsistenz als z.B. ein luftiger Sandkuchen. „Das soll so!“
5.) Den Teig in der vorbereiteten Kastenform gleichmäßig verstreichen. Die Erdnussbutter in Teelöffelklecksen darüber geben und mit einer Gabel leicht in die Oberfläche swirlen. Nicht zu sehr einrühren, sonst verläuft die Erdnussbutter zu sehr und man erkennt sie nach dem Backen nicht mehr. Wäre schade drum.
6.) Den Kuchen nun für ca. 60-70 Minuten im unteren Backofendrittel backen. Nach 15 Minuten an der Oberfläche der Länge nach mit einem scharfen Messer in der Mitte einen ca. 1cm tiefen Schnitt ziehen. Den Kuchen eventuell nach 50 Minuten mit Alufolie bedecken, sofern er zu stark bräunen sollte.
Wer noch Schokolade übrig hat (wie jetzt: Überreste von Schokolade, DEM Lebenselixier schlechthin?! Unvorstellbar, und dennoch: derartige kuriose Mirakel geschehen noch tatsächlich) kann diese schmelzen und über den Kuchen geben.

Let’s face it: Bananenbrot hat das Zeug zum wahren Verwandlungskünstler. Ob mit Nüssen oder Cranberries, Zimt-Apfelstückchen oder Chocolate Chips, Nutella statt Erdnussbutter - eurer Kreativität sind keine Grenzen gesetzt, wenn ihr eure ganz eigene Version von Bananenbrot kredenzen wollt. Dass ich persönlich ein kleines Faible für Bananenbrot habe, ist wohl kaum zu übersehen. Es ist einfach sooo saftig! Die Erdnussbutter-Version ist mein aktueller Liebling. Ach, davon könnt‘ ich den lieben langen Tag naschen…
